THUNDERSTONE Keyboardist Checks In From European Tour
November 2, 2007Finnish melodic power metallers THUNDERSTONE have updated their "tour diary" with another entry from their current European trek. An excerpt from keyboardist Jukka Karinen's latest posting follows:
"We’re sitting in the bus, going from France to Spain. Last evening we performed in Paris in front of something like 150 people. That was the second biggest audience for me ever. The day before that in Lenzburg I had my first show outside of Finland ever, and the biggest one too. 800 people – quite big shit for me.
"On the border of Switzerland we got stuck in customs and in the process a few parts of my keyboard stand got lost so in Lenzburg I had to perform with borrowed keys stand. That created a feeling of uncertainty in me and I think that it was visible in my performance. Despite that, it was a fucking great show for me — the greatest one so far, ever.
"Yesterday we played in Paris. The venue was much smaller and the audience was too. On the way to Paris we found the missing parts of my stand and I felt like the happiest guy on the globe. Weird. Well, the show was a great success, at least playing-wise. I felt much more at home on the stage than the last time – no stress from weird equipment."

STRATOVARIUS keyboardist Jens Johansson was unable to join THUNDERSTONE on their current European tour as a replacement for the recently departed Kari Tornack. According to the band, Johansson was forced to bow out of the tour "for personal reasons."
THUNDERSTONE's video for the song "Face in the Mirror" can be viewed below. The track comes off the group's fourth studio album, "Evolution 4.0", which was released this past March. According to the band, the CD is "a milestone, bringing in more of the heavier stuff that 'Tools of Destruction' already hinted at, but still retaining the landmark melodies of THUNDERSTONE. That's why we thought the title 'Evolution 4.0' best represents where we now stand."
